The Sammy J’s Grill and Bar located across from the Willowbrook Mall in Langley is an excellent place to take the family to dinner or catch the latest Canucks game. They have big screen Tv’s throughout the restaurant and the beer is ice cold. There’s not a bad seat in the place and the large windows throughout the restaurant give the place a bright open feel.

Trucks Now Using Patullo Bridge to Beat Tolls

It turns out that many trucks are now using the Patullo bridge instead of the new Port Mann toll bridge. Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts is concerned about this Surrey’s infrastructure is not able to accommodate this additional volume of traffic.

Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts is alarmed an estimated 25 per cent more trucks are using the free Pattullo Bridge since the province started charging tolls on the new Port Mann Bridge. Watts said she received the estimate of trucks diverting to the Pattullo from the B.C. Trucking Association, which made the calculation based on City of Surrey traffic counts.

“We knew there would be some diversion – it’s been a concern since square one,” said Watts, who chairs a new Metro Vancouver transportation committee. “It’s problematic because the infrastructure can’t accommodate it.”

My wife and I love to go out for dinner and we do this as a family outing at least once a week. Typically we frequent the restaurants in and around the Walnut Grove area – as this is where we live.

However, tonight we’re planning to go to Earls Restaurant for dinner which is located in South Langley near the Willowbrook Mall. With Earls you can always count on a great meal, excellent decor, and first class service. So I though it would be fun to put together a list (in my opinion) of the top 5 things to order on their menu. So here it is…

Tuna Poke Nachos: crisp togarashi wontons, tuna, cucumber & avocado – $11.50
Prawn Dynamite Roll: panko breaded prawns, mango, avocado, cucumber – $11.25
The Californian Prawn Pesto Pizza: pesto, prawns, sundried tomatoes – $15.00
